For these laptops, one solution has been to use ThrottleStop to run your CPU at a slower speed. In some laptops like the Acer 3830TG and some Mac laptops, the cooling solution is inadequate so it is impossible to run the CPU and GPU at their rated speed for any length of time without triggering throttling. If you are ever playing a game and it seems to run fine and then it looks like it is running in slow motion and then it instantly speeds back up you might be seeing the results of throttling. I display the desktop on the external monitor and use it as the main display with the macbook monitor displaying the extended desktop. I have a dual monitor set up with the Macbook monitor and a 22 inch external monitor connected with an hdmi cord. At first this was fine but lately games aren't running very well. I honestly only use the Mac partition for work and windows for all my gaming. I have the hard drive partitioned for Mac OS and Windows 7 pro 32bit.
